Inside the game

One awning. Twenty-four market days.

Uncle Rıza is in hospital and the stall is yours. Haggle with wholesalers at the dawn market, sell under the awning all day, close the ledger at night. Three neighbourhoods, four seasons, fourteen kinds of produce and a street that remembers you.

The wholesale market at dawn.

Walk the wholesalers under sodium lamps. Tip out the crate, weigh it on your own scale, check the origin slip against the label. Catch the rot at the bottom, the watered weight and the fake origin, then use the evidence to haggle. Accuse without proof and it backfires.

Stack the stall, write the tags.

Arrange the produce by colour and write prices on cardboard tags in marker. Shout your best line, then strike a deal with the aunties and the hagglers. A rigged scale or rot hidden at the bottom is always within reach; every trick has a delayed, personal cost.

The evening ledger.

Close the squared notebook at day’s end: income, costs, spoilage and the next instalment. Catch up on neighbourhood gossip and The Market Post. Reach one of five endings after twenty-four days, then keep the stall open in the endless Free Market.

See, hear, feel

A blue-and-white awning. Marker-pen numbers.

Light filters through the awning and shadows lengthen with the hour. Every number is hand-drawn like a marker stroke. Original music and effects: the till, the scale, paper bags, the inspector’s whistle, rain. Turn-based with no reflexes needed, and playable with VoiceOver and large text. Music, ambience, effects and haptics each have their own setting.
