Terms of Use

Pasteparrot is an app for the menu bar of a Mac with macOS 14 or later. A shortcut opens a small box over the app you are working in. You type in your own language. Return gives the text back in the target language and pastes it where your cursor was. Command-Return rewrites a rough note as a clear prompt for an AI assistant. Every text is answered by the Pasteparrot service, so the app needs an internet connection. The service can stop answering a version of the app that is too old. The app then says so, and it has to be updated.

• Free. Up to 10 answers a day, at no cost. The free plan is also limited for a network and for all free users together, so on some days it can end before your tenth answer.
• Pasteparrot Pro. A subscription for 8 US dollars a month or 48 US dollars a year, with up to 1,000 answers a day. The 1,000 are for the license key, on all its Macs together. Fair use: the day's allowance is also measured by the amount of text, so very long texts use it up sooner. Texts that are typed do not come near it.

Polar (polar.sh) is the merchant of record for all purchases and handles payment, invoices and sales tax. Taxes can be added to the price according to where you are. The amount you pay is the one that Polar's checkout shows before you pay. Your purchase is also subject to Polar's terms for buyers: polar.sh/legal/checkout-buyer-terms. A purchase gives you one license key, which you enter in the app's Settings.

The subscription renews by itself at the end of each month or each year, and you are charged its price again each time, until you cancel. You can cancel at any time in Polar's customer portal. "Manage subscription" in the app's Settings opens it. A cancellation takes effect at the end of the period you have paid for: Pasteparrot Pro stays until then, and after that the key no longer works and the app is on the free plan again.

If Pasteparrot Pro is not right for you, ask for a refund within 14 days of the purchase by writing to [email protected]. Refunds are paid through Polar. After a refund the license key is no longer valid for use.

One key is for one person, on up to three Macs that this person owns or controls. Do not share, resell or publish the key. You can take a Mac off the key in the app's Settings ("Remove from this Mac") or in Polar's customer portal, and then use the key on another Mac.

The limits are 10 answers a day on the free plan and up to 1,000 answers a day for a Pasteparrot Pro key, whose allowance for the day is also measured by the amount of text. They keep the service available for everyone. You agree not to:

• try to get around these limits,
• use the service by any means other than the app,
• use Pasteparrot for an unlawful purpose or to harm the service or other people,
• resell access to the service.

We may limit or end the use of an account or a key that breaks these terms.

The translation or the prompt you get is written by an AI model, not by a person. It can be wrong, incomplete or different in tone from what you meant, and the model can decline a text. Read the answer before you send it on. Pasteparrot pastes the answer and presses nothing else: sending it is your step, and what you send is your responsibility. Where a mistake would matter, have the text checked before you rely on it.

The app and its design are owned by Orhan Ege Bilge (Codebiy) and protected by applicable laws. These terms give you a right to use the app, not ownership of it. The texts you write and the answers you get are yours.

Pasteparrot is provided "as is", without warranties of any kind, to the extent permitted by law. We do not promise that the service is available at all times, that it is free of errors or that an answer is correct. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental or consequential damages arising from your use of Pasteparrot, including the consequences of an answer that you sent on. Our total liability shall not exceed the amount you paid for Pasteparrot Pro in the twelve months before the claim.

You may stop using Pasteparrot at any time. We may suspend or end access to the service if you break these terms. Sections that by their nature should outlast the end, such as the disclaimers and the limits of liability, stay in force.

These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Türkiye, without regard to conflict of law principles. Disputes are resolved in the competent courts of Türkiye. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under the consumer laws of the country you live in.

We may update these terms from time to time. The updated version is posted on this page with a new date. If you keep using Pasteparrot after a change takes effect, you accept the new terms.
